Wordpress Ping List

Published by linda

Most blogs have the ability to “ping” servers every time you post new content. This allows blog search engines to provide fresh information by indexing the fresh content updates.  In the same way, content aggregators - like FeedBurner, Google Blog Search, IceRocket, Technorati, Yahoo and more  - can let subscribers know when fresh content is available.

You may have seen some of the huge ping lists floating around the Internet.  I’ve seen lists with over 50 ping services.

Here’s the thing. Those lists contain individual ping servers as well as ping services that ping multiple servers.  In plain English, that means if you use those long lists you could end up pinging the same server 3+ times - and looking like a ping spammer. Not cool.

Ping-o-matic has grown and now submits your posts to many more places than they did in 2007.  A shorter list but more effective list will cut the odds of being accidentally labelled as a ping spammer.

 Here’s the list I recommend;

Not Sure What to Do With That List?

Paste it into your ping list in Control Panel –> Options –> Writing

    Hi BioTeck… good to see you! I also find that when I use good keywords or search terms in my post title along with the ping list, it sure helps.
