Missing 12 Yr Old Florida Girl Found with Internet Boyfriend

A Florida girl who had been missing since Thursday has been found safe.
12 year old Tiffany Tyson was with 19-year-old James D. McClish Linch… who she met on the Internet. The boy drove 270 miles to pick her up in her neighborhood. Neighbors saw the girl get into a car at 11:30 Thursday.
At about 9:30 Friday morning, Linch’s father saw him pull into the driveway with Tiffany in the car and called the police. Both kids were taken into custody by Quincy Police Department.
Kudos to a dad for doing the right thing. And why on EARTH is a 12 year old allowed to dress this this? Teens, I can understand. But 12? 12?

she is 12????? OMG!
Because freedom of dressing is a right. I don’t like gothic clothing, however.
A minor child has the right to food, clothing, shelter, and education. They have the right to live without fear of abuse.
They get to decide how to dress when they earn the money to buy their clothes.
If she was 15-17 - whatever. But 12?
IMHO, the mother needs to shake her head and ask herself what she THOUGHT would happen if she lets a 12 year old dress like a teen.
Agree with you linda. I’ve seen that kind of thing firsthand. Plus… if they do at 12, what most teens wait until 15-17 for, then when they’re 15-17, they’re needing to up the ante and do what 21 year olds are doing, because they’re bored of what they’ve already been doing since 12.
Then… they get to be 25 and realize somehow, they missed being 12, and they resent the parent for not doing something differently, because by then, they’ve gained some maturity and realize that at 12, sometimes you need to be told what you can wear and how you can act.
@ an_internet_person: You have really not got a good grasp on the difference between rights and priviledges. At 12, your parents give you the priviledge of choosing your own clothes providing you show that you can make good choices. If a 12 year old wanted to wear S&M gear as a clothing choice… would you also say that freedom of dressing is a right, or would you suggest that the parents should do a little parenting?
Linda has given the correct and reasonable list of rights for a minor child.
