Insta-Fuel at Fuel My Blog

Published by linda at 12:11 am under bloggers

So, there’s a really cool new feature at Fuel My Blog. Insta-Fuel!

When you log in, all your “friends” are listed with checkboxes by their names. Just check the names and click fuel. Holy cow - no more clicking each name one by one.  Thanks, Kevin, for the chunk of time I just got back.

Know what I think? I think it’s going to make people trim their friends lists and remove those who never vote back. Especially now that it’s so easy.

Which also means that Fracas, Rotus, 70s, Sugar, DaddyP, and a few others are going to be freakin’ crazy-glued to that main page for the rest of eternity. lol

If you’re at FMB, are you voting for everyone on your list, some people on your list or have you trimmed your list? Enquiring minds want to know…

I add blogs to my fuelroll as I come across ones that I like, have sparked an interest for some reason or other, or are people I’ve known but didn’t realize were registered there and then suddenly I found them.

I vote for them for a time and if I never get a vote back I ask myself if they’re someone who I like enough to keep voting for them even if they don’t vote for me. The reason I do that is because not everyone makes fuelmyblog a daily (or even weekly) thing and I’m not going to punish them for that just because I want votes.

The widget only displays 100 avatars so I have to constantly shuffle blogs if I add new ones. My list now looks quite different than the list I had in October when the contest was on and my list was at about 80.

You crack me up. I guess they need to come up with a fracroll that holds more.

For a while there, my fuelroll was loading really slow and the content side of my blog wouldn’t load until the left menu finished… so I just reduced to the top 20. Seems to do the trick. I’m thinking I need to switch the theme again to one that holds the blog lists in the right column so that the content can load first.

    But now I’m babbling… :)

Linda you’re always babbling …….. tsk …….. and now I’ve forgotten what I was going to say. I’d hate to be at a social gathering with you two ……… I suppose I could write a book whilst trying to get a word in edge-wise.

DaddyP… are you avoiding answering again?? *sigh*

Meat in plastic wrap, indeed! harumph.

    Depends.
Now does that answer your question ……… tsk

    hey Linda…….. i know isn’t it GREAT!!!

I created a script that tabs thrice, checks the box, all in a loop equivalent to the amount of friends minus 1 after you click the first.

Ok, so I just clicked down the damn line!

Got a good question for you…why do some users on MyBlogLog have their names show up in italics, in widgets, on the MBL pages…anywhere scripted from MBL? I’m seeing this on people very dissimiliar, so it’s not a ‘paid’ thing.

    Any idea, Linda?

lol on the “script” John…. I know my widget shows my name, but it’s because I put it there in the avatar I uploaded. Heh.

Not sure how to get it to show in italics, but I’ll ask sha_k_ah — who is actually quite awesome and has been adopted by me as honorary family.

    :)

I have not trimmed my list down. I am using speedy fuelling but not for everyone.
It is great when time is precious (which is most of the time!!)
But what it does do is give me an opportunity to visit more people more often

I don’t vote regularly for those who don’t fuel at all. I will only fuel them if I like what they have posted.

    “freakin’ crazy-glued ” rofl :-D

I’ve decided to delete my blog from Fuel… once I figure out how to do it… lol

I’m not very happy with the situation. My votes have gone up (not due to mass fuel), and my blog is sinking because so many people have multiple blogs that cause their less read blogs to rise with their read blogs. Anyhoo… Since I have no life, I can’t bare to watch it. lol

Fraccy deserves to be crazy-glued! lolol

  13. lindaon 08 Apr 2008 at 12:27 am

Noooooooooooooooooooooooooo! Jayleen, please don’t even THINK about deleting your blog from FMB. I love seeing it crazy glued to the main page.

I did notice that a lot of less-read / less-viewed blogs are up now because of the insta-fuel… but you still BELONG on that page. So we just need to keep voting for you.

Because seriously, the world needs to see your work!!

    :)

  14. fracason 08 Apr 2008 at 3:17 am

I agree with Linda Jayleen. I think the rise of lesser read blogs is temporary. People will figure out how easy it is to sort the list by dragging names (took minutes only for me and I have more than 100 blogs on my list) and keeping those who have multiple blogs listed to their account in one chunk so as to fuel them individually and only vote for the ones you really want to.

The good thing is that the votes are zeroed at the end of each month. This month is learning curve month and so no one will pay that much attention to it anyway. Next month, people will be fueling who they really want to more, and understanding how speed fuel works better.

Stick around and see. And ok.. I’ll write a Just Fraccing Around tomorrow and talk about that, help it along.
