When “Sarah” was 13, her parents brought her to the FLDS ranch - and left her there. At 15, she was ‘married off’ to a man 3 times her age. She was 15, he was 49.

On March 29, Sarah phoned a women’s shelter in Texas. Whispering, she told them that the abuse started immediately. Her husband raped her and when he got mad at her, he would choke her and hit her in the chest — once he even broke her ribs and she needed medical attention.  She said she has an 8 month old baby, delivered when she was 15… and she’s pregnant again.

Sarah called several times that day, pleading for help. Said that she was afraid that if she tried to leave, she would be “found and locked up.” She said she’d tried to escape by faking illness, hoping to escape while receiving medical care off the ranch but it didn’t work because they wouldn’t let her take her baby. She ”borrowed” a cellphone to call for help.

Sarah’s last call to the shelter was on March 30th. On Easter Sunday, another woman had held her baby while the pregnant teen received a beating from her husband. She whispered that she was afraid that her parents were going to bring her 15 year old sister to the ranch - and then started to cry.

Suddenly, Sarah changed her demeanor and said ”nevermind everything I said, I’m fine…” and disconnected.
That’s when state officials raided the FLDS ranch in Texas.

Over 400 children were taken to shelters…. one of them a 16 year old girl with 4 children. Four children. At 16.

The affidavit filed states that;

“…once a minor female child is determined by the leaders of the YFZ ranch to have reached child-bearing age, approximately 13 to 14 years, they are then spiritually married to an adult male member of the church. They are required then to engage in sexual activity with such males for the purpose of having children.”

Texas Ranger Leslie Brooks Long reported being at the ranch that evening and said there were beds on the third floor of the FLDS temple where marriages to underaged girls are consumated “immediately.”

During the raid, one of the beds had rumpled linens and a strand of long hair was still on the bed.

Does it get sicker? They can’t even wait to get their child-bride home, they have to consumate in the temple?

Authorities say they still have not located Sarah. They are looking for a pregnant girl who has already given birth once and whose ribs have been broken sometime in the last two years.

I hope they find her alive and well.
Maybe say a prayer for her?
