May I ask a favor?

Published by linda at 4:51 am under YouTube, videos

If you’re bumming around the Internet waiting for Santa, could you take a minute to share my “How to Make Money on the Internets” (sung to the tune of Jingle Bells) video with at least one person? Send the link to a friend?  Or post it on your blog or myspace?

It’s my very first shot at making a video, and it hit 500 views in the first 2 days or so. I’d be over the moon if I could get it to 1,000 views.  Thank you in advance… I appreciate you tons!

Oh, oh… (jumping wildly) you’re on right now! I know because I saw the other header photo and refreshed the page to find a new one.

Hey you… I was going to phone you in about an hour!

I’ve been AOL for about a week, freaking out at home with stuff and people and all and now I’ve got a list of online stuff to do that’s a mile long.

I have to go see your video and I will for sure pass it on for you.

  2. fracason 26 Dec 2007 at 11:36 pm

Ok, so I AM blonde. I see now, that you have several headers all on the go.

Mr. Fracas saw the one with the cutie in it and asked who that was. He almost didn’t believe me when I told him.

Oh.. and I do hope your readers don’t misunderstand my first comment and think I was using AOL all week. I meant I was absent without leave. LOL. And by that I do mean laughing out loud.

I will pass it on! It was very well done, which seems obvious since everything you do is very well done. :)

And Fracas, on first read I did think you had switched to AOL, LOL. So I’m glad you pointed me in the right direction. I’ve been AOL too for several days.

AOL. lol. Took me a minute to realize you meant awol. LOL. And I’m NOT blonde. I tried being blonde once, but I looked like Harpo, so I decided blonde wasn’t for me.

lol on the headers, too. I have some rotating. For now, they’re just 2 photos at different zoom levels until I dig out my box of photos to scan in more. Know what’s funny? The two photos up there were taken almost 20 years apart.

    Well, I am blond… lol

Hey! My cat won a prize! I’ll tell her. :D

BTW… Your blog for profit series is very interesting. I’m taking notes…

Yes, it’s amazing what a difference a typo can make. AOL is just not the same as AWOL.

I agree with the first article in your series Linda. If a person is going to tell others how to make money online, I’d prefer they be able to show me how they’ve actually done it, otherwise all they’re doing is trying to make money off of people who want to learn how to make money and to me, that seems icky. It reminds me of those pre-internet ads in every local paper… ads that ask someone to send $30 to learn how to make money from home and then when you send the $30 you get a letter telling you to do the same thing… advertise telling people to send $30 to you to learn how to make money from home and then you send them the same letter.

It’s just an icky way to make money. I’d rather not make money than do it that way.

Jayleen, thanks for the compliments on the article. It’s like Fraccy says… too many people do the equivalent of the old newspaper scam. Except now they’re $97, not $10-$30. lol.

Agreed, Fracas, it’s an icky way to make money. I’d rather not make money than compromise my ethics. I just can’t scam people that way.

P.S. Jayleen, congrats to your kitty. lol. err…. meowww..

This isn’t about the video, but I just noticed in the sidebar, that the total of posts per reader keeps changing. Earlier, I’d been below 70steen and then after posting comments to your blog this evening, the count had gone up and I was up to 16. (Last week though, the number was waaaay higher) Now, I’m back down to 13 and in a tie with 70s at 13. I was just wondering how it counts the posts and when some drop off the count… why and all that jazz.

Not that it matters, but you know how curious I get about stuff like that when I don’t know how it works. What’s it counting? Is it by date and so when the clock ticked over to a new day, three comments fell off the wagon (so to speak).

  9. lindaon 27 Dec 2007 at 3:33 am

Yes, it’s by date. It keeps a running count. Right now I have it set to keep count for the last 15 days. If’/when this little blog gets busier, I can move it up to weekly, daily or on the hour.

Since you’ll ask anyway (lol) - it’s a plugin for self hosted Wordpress, called “top commentators” Kind of fun, really, and a nice way to thank frequest posters with a link back.

P.S. If I set it to a monthly count, the numbers would be much higher. I started with monthly, but then changed it to count the last 15 days so that new posters have a shot at getting a link there. : )

    ‘Tis what I thought.

I was directed to your blog by Fracas and her post with your video (well done by the way!) and I very much enjoy what I see :D I’ll be keeping some of your money making tips in mind! I’ve tagged Fracas in a meme so I thought I’d tag you as well so you don’t feel left out hehe!
